MVLF’s M2T program, part of the national Leadership Foundations network, supports vulnerable youth with steady, caring mentors.

Every young person, from first grade to high school, wants to feel seen and valued. But one in three grow up without a mentor, facing school, friendships, and life’s challenges alone.

That’s why we mentor. Mentors help youth move from feeling alone to feeling like they belong. One caring mentor can change a young person’s life.

Who’s a mentor?

A mentor is a caring adult who invests in the life of a young person. That means anyone can be a mentor: a business professional, a retiree, a plumber, a college student, a nurse. No matter who you are, if you have a heart to see today’s youth succeed, you’re one step closer to being a mentor.

Where and how do we mentor?

Mentoring

We connect with youth at their schools and in their communities. Working with local schools, we match mentors and mentees for weekly one-hour meetings, helping ease the emotional and social needs students have without adding pressure on teachers.

You can change a young person’s life in your community. Ready to help? Become a mentor with MVLF.

Testimonials

Kevin-Grone-Principal

"I love walking by the mentors and hearing the conversations taking place. The smile that I see on the students’ faces when they meet with their mentors brings me great joy."
